Our attorneys can draft a Last Will and Testament which will allow you to specify who your property should be given to upon your death, who will act as the Executor to manage the affairs of your estate and what should happen to your body. More importantly, if you have minor children, you can appoint a Guardian to take care of them and their property. If you fail to do so, a Court will have to make the appointment and may require that the Guardian post a bond in order to act. We can assist you with preparing a Power of Attorney which will allow another person to legally act on your behalf when you cannot. The document is useful when you are unavailable to act and have someone trustworthy to take care of your affairs. This may be because you are incapacitated or are away from home for an extended period of time. We can also draft a Healthcare Proxy which will allow you to appoint a person whom you trust to make healthcare decisions on your behalf. Or, a Living Will specifying your healthcare wishes in advance, which is used when someone is in a vegetative state with no chance of recovery. |
